Eyes surgery is developping at a fast pace and it slowly becoming a clear alternative to contact lenses and glasses. Meanwhile eye laser surgery requires a surgical procedure and many people tend to forget this, and do not take into consideration the potential risks of such a procedure. Before going for eyes surgery, it is necessary to be aware of the risks involved.Like in any surgery, there is always a risk. In most cases all will be ok, and the patient will not have any complications. Meanwhile in some cases, and more frequently than most think there can be some serious complications. Generally the complications that occur are small and not very unhealthy. It can happen to get an infection after the procedure, but it is rather rare to become blind. An infection can be quite painful if you do not deal with it straight away. The most frequent problem are over or under corrections which can give you heavy headaches. Against this you can either wait a bit in order to get used to it, or go back for a small laser correction.
Another issue which can happen, is a lot more annoying for your wallet. It is called regression. This basically means that after your eyes surgery, your vision slowlys regresses and you have to wear glasses or contact lenses, or pay again for eye laser surgery. This the reason why it is recommended to wait till your vision has stabilized before going for laser eye surgery.
As you can see, there are risks involved with laser surgery, and you need to be aware of them before taking your decision of going or not for it. In most cases, if you go and see a doctor he will give you his opinion, and if he says its fine for you then all goes perfectly well most of the time!
